A planted wall does not decline in one day. It weakens through small signs: pale leaves in a dark corner, water standing at the base, or a dry band following one irrigation line. Maintenance should identify the cause before trimming the surface. Read water, light, and roots first.

Check Irrigation Before Trimming Leaves
Pruning and cleaning make the surface look composed, but they address only the outside. The technician needs to feel the growing medium, inspect the tray, and check irrigation before changing the watering schedule. In an air-conditioned office, leaves can dry even when the wall stays cool.
Every maintenance visit should include the emitters. One blocked point can weaken a plant group while the timer continues to run normally.
Replace the Weak Plant Group, Not the Whole Wall
Plant replacement should follow actual decline rather than a rigid date. Plants near hard sun, air-conditioning, or moving air often weaken before the rest. A modular system lets the technician replace one group without disrupting the full surface.
Inspect roots and water at the same time. A new plant placed into the same unresolved fault will yellow again.
Clean Leaves and the Spaces Behind Them
Dry leaves, dust, and debris inside the modules make a wall look older than it is. In a lobby or living room, clean foliage catches light more evenly and reduces damp material at the base. The work needs a light hand to avoid pulling new roots.
Cleaning includes leaves, module gaps, tray edges, and the area against the backing wall.
Price Maintenance from Actual Condition
Maintenance cost depends on area, height, access, the number of plants to replace, and the state of the water system. A stable new wall usually needs less work than one left without care for several months. For a 2–6m² wall at a single location, within roughly 10km of An Phu – Thao Dien, the price is listed: Per-month at 2,000,000đ, six months at 10,500,000đ, twelve months at 21,000,000đ, all at four visits a month. Outside that frame we quote separately and say where the difference comes from.
Owners who handle light weekly care should call a technician when decline follows a line, damp odor appears, or several plants wilt together.
The Three Phases of a Living Wall
Tường Cây SG divides maintenance into establishment, routine and ongoing phases; the establishment phase can run one to two years depending on the project. The care rhythm is therefore not constant across a wall’s life: the early period needs closer attention before it settles. Our maintenance plan states objectives, responsibilities, frequency, coverage criteria and safe access, so each visit leaves a record behind, not just a tidy surface.
How to Read Maintenance Signals
| Dry vertical band | Check the irrigation zone, emitters and pipe above the band. |
|---|---|
| Wet base | Check tray, outlet and stagnant-water odor. |
| Scorched edges | Read sun, hot wind or cold air-conditioning flow again. |
| Weak cluster | Correct the cause first, then replace plants by cluster. |
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should a green wall be maintained?
It depends on the position. An indoor wall with stable light and irrigation often needs less intervention than an outdoor wall exposed to sun and wind.
Can I prune it myself?
You can remove a dry leaf carefully. Plant replacement, irrigation adjustment, and damp-odor diagnosis should be handled by a technician.
Does maintenance make a mess indoors?
It can release leaves, growing-medium particles, and excess water. The care team should protect the floor, collect waste, and inspect the room before leaving.
What We’ve Already Worked Out
The worry: not knowing how much care a green wall needs, who does it, or what it costs each month.
What we fixed in advance: a fixed rhythm of four visits a month across all three plans, one checklist, and listed pricing for a 2–6m² wall at a single location. You choose the commitment length, not the care schedule.
Which package covers it: Per-month 2,000,000đ, 6-month plan 10,500,000đ, 12-month plan 21,000,000đ, all at four visits a month. If you are still planning the install, the Verdant package already includes three months and Evergreen twelve.
What still needs a look: outside roughly 10km of An Phu – Thao Dien, walls larger than 6m², or positions that need scaffolding. We quote those three separately.
